bereits im Mai 1914 wurde in Großenhain ein 'Auto'-Löscher genanntes Gerät getestet. Ich vermute es handelte sich um einen Löscher fürs Flugzeug und nicht für den Gebrauch des Bodenpersonales.
Wilhelm Siegert von Idflieg listet in einem Buch unter die normale Ausrüstung eines C-Flugzeuges einen Feuerlöscher im Gewicht von 4 kg! Auch das dazu abgebildete Lichtbild läßt diesen erkennen!
Allerdings listet Siegert auch zwei Fallschirme á 6,8 kg - unter Bezug auf das Jahr 1917 (?!) - als normal auf. Deshalb kommt in mir der Verdacht auf, daß man den Feuerlöscher - falls überhaupt in genügender Zahl vorhanden - gegen Ende des Krieges zwar hatte, aber aus Gewichtsgründen wohl doch zurückließ. Das mag unverständlich erscheinen, doch mancher Flieger ließ ja auch den Fallschirm zurück.
Im übrigen bilde ich mir noch ein in zeitgenössischen Zeitschriften und Zeitungen wiederholt Werbung für Handfeuerlöscher gesehen zu haben.
Durchgesetzt hat sich der Feuerlöscher an Bord von Flugzeugen wohl erst Mitte der 20er Jahre.
